Show-jumping stallion of bright appearance, bred using a first-class show-jumping recipe. Calido’s Son canters in a captivating way and emphasises his jumping qualities with scope, manner and leg technique. His potential seems almost limitless, thanks to extraordinary breeding: His sire Calido I is, from a breeding perspective, the most influential son of the famous Cantus, and one of the most renowned show-jumping sires worldwide. He produces top horses by the dozen and has sired more than 70 licensed sons and 293 show-jumpers successful at S level. On the maternal side comes, with Stakkato, one of the most heroic sires of present show-jumping breeding times. German national champion and internationally successful for years with Eva Bitter, he led the German show-jumping breeding value estimation for over a decade. In 2007, he was Hanoverian stallion of the year. In the third generation stands, with the stallion performance test winner Contender, one of the best sires of Germany, whose offspring, including the Olympic individual bronze winner and double European champion Montender/Marco Kutscher and the Team European and World Champion Checkmate/Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, have won over 10.3m euros. With Garibaldi II, Wolfsburg, Ferdinand and Marcio xx, the performance components are also highly secured in the earlier generations.
Calido’s Son represents the Hanoverian line 701/Maiglöckchen (by Marcio xx-Athos-Fang-Allmers etc.). From direct relations result the licensed stallions Curo, Edgar, Franclin, Galino, Garant, Glenn Miller, Golfball, Grand Ferdinand I and II and Wyclef Jones (privately owned Hann.) as well as the internationally successful dressage horse Elvis VA/Nadine Capellmann and the S level show-jumpers Clausewitz 10/Hartwig Rohde and Little Esprit/Thomas Jahn.
