With his successful participation in the World Championships in Herning/DEN, Total Hope has reached the highest level - and in record time. In 2022, for his first Grand Prix season, he won the competitions in Hagen a.T.W., Mannheim and Pinneberg with his trainer Isabel Freese/NOR with results up to almost 76 percent. In the Grand Prix in Aachen, he came fourth (with 75.0 percent). For this result, he was named VTV sport stallion. Before that, Total Hope won the Nuremberg Burg Cup in 2019 and the Louisdor Prize in 2021, something that no other stallion in the long history of the two most important young horse competitions had ever achieved before. And both times, he won in an absolutely impressive manner - clearly ahead of the strong competition. For his piaffe, passage and tempi changes in the Grand Prix final in Kronberg, the judges awarded scores up to 10 - a total of 77.54 percent. “That was a very mature performance”, commented Dr. Dietrich Plewa. “What is particularly impressive about this horse is that nothing seems trained or mechanical. This is the result of systematic training”
Without a doubt, Total Hope has inherited the talent for collection from his parents, who are none other than Totilas and Weihegold.
Total Hope began his career as Champion of his Swedish licensing, dressage champion and finalist as a six-year-old and bronze medallist as a seven-year-old at the World Championships for young dressage horses.
Total Hope OLD’s first sons have been licensed. Furstepoppel/Emma Ahlberg/SWE took part in the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses in Verden. Total Target, already placed internationally in competitions for young dressage horses, was one of the top bids at the P.S.I. Auction. Terpling's Tiffany, Champion Foal in Denmark, was sold for 46,000 euros at the Danish Foal Auction, Total Amour was the top price of the 2021 DSP Online Auction, selling for 25,500 euros and Total Niro was also one of the top prices the year after at the DSP Online Auction.
His sire Totilas won double gold at the European Championships in Windsor/GBR in 2009 and triple gold at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington/USA in 2010. Furthermore, he was unbeatable at the World Cup Final in 2010 in 's-Hertogenbosch/NED and achieved numerous world record scores. He has produced over 30 licensed stallions, including the aforementioned Total Hope OLD, who was among the record-breaking number of Totilas’s offspring competing at the World Championships in Herning in 2022, just like Torveslettens Titanium RS2/Marieke van der Putten/NED, who came fifth by team.
His dam Weihegold OLD was Oldenburg Champion Mare, winner of the Burg Cup and Louisdor Prize and, ridden by Isabell Werth, Olympic Gold medallist, triple World Cup winner and fourfold European Champion. She also produced the licensed stallion Jewels Sir Weihbach (by Sir Donnerhall I), who was successful up to Inter I with Tristan Tucker/AUS. Her daughters have also produced licensed stallions. St.Pr.St. Weihcine (by Fürst Heirnich) produced the Oldenburg licensing Reserve Champion Dodo Weihgand (by Diamond Hit), St.Pr.St. Aweih (by Apache) produced the Westphalian Champion Stallion Extra Gold (by Escolar), St.Pr.St. Weihcera Royal NG (by Zack), victorious at advanced (S) level, produced the licensed stallion For Gold (by Franziskus), St.Pr.St. Fürstin Weihe (by Fürst Romancier) produced the licensed stallion Damon Gold (by Damon Hill) and Weihronce (by For Romance I) produced the licensed stallion Viva Gold (by Vivaldi). One of her granddaughters produced the licensed stallion Iowa Gold (by Asgard’s Ibiza).
Weihegold OLD is by Don Schufro, who led the German dressage breeding valuation for years, was internationally victorious up to Grand Prix level and won the Olympic bronze medal in Hong Kong/HKG with the Danish team in 2008.
His grand-dam St.Pr./El.St. Weihevoll has produced the advanced (S) level dressage horses Weihestolz (by Fidertanz), Weiheglanz (by United), and Total Recall (by Totilas), price highlight of 200,000 euros at the Vechta auction and placed in competitions up to St. Georges Special with Matthias Alexander Rath.
Through the legendary sires Figaro and Vollkorn xx, the maternal roots lead to the Oldenburg mare family Weissena (by Folkert-Goldengel etc.), from which come the licensed stallions Lux Dressage Statesman OLD (by Stedinger), Inselfürst (by Inschallah AA), Canaster I and II (by Caprimond) as well as Triumphator and Top of Class (both by Titus).
