Honour to whom honour is due: Franklin was named Elite Stallion in Denmark. A high distinction, which honours his sporting successes up to Inter I, but above all his fantastic hereditary power. Hardly any stallion is as present worldwide with his offspring as our KWPN Champion Stallion, stallion performance test winner and World Championship Finalist.
Many of his sons have been licensed, including the Reserve Champions Franklin’s Love PS, Kadans and our new addition Feinsten, the Oldenburg Regional Championship bronze medallist Fair Deal, the winner of the Aage Ravn's Trophy, Slangerupgaard’s Flottenheimer, and our stallions Straight Horse Finest Hour and Franzé, who were licensed in Denmark. He has produced numerous offspring who are successful in sport, amongst whom Fendi/Sönke Rothenberger/GER, placed in St. Georges dressage competitions, Francis Drake OLD/Leonie Richter/GER, placed eighth at the World Championships for young dressage horses, Elektra di Fonte Abeti/Frederico Migue Mexia de Almeida/POR, Hanoverian Vice Champion, Franklin Hit/Michael Eilberg/GBR, British Vice Champion and Mambeau B/Antonio Verdejo Pérez/ESP, bronze medallist of the Championships for young dressage horses in Spain, particularly stand out. Five offspring qualified for the upcoming DWB Young Horse Championships in Herning in March 2022. In 2021, Franklin’s daughter Faretti was awarded the gold medal at the Elite Mare Show in Denmark. Straight Horse Floriana and Fairy received the silver medal and Straight Horse Fellini received the bronze medal. Faretti was the best DWB dressage filly in 2017 and was sold at the Nordic International Sales Auction for the sensational price of 150,000 Euros. Her full sister Faretti II was the top price the following year. In 2020, the filly Fascination was sold for 60,000 Euros at the Schockemöhle/Helgstrand Online Foal Auction. The title of best filly went to Franklin’s daughter Francisca Lightfoot in 2016 and to her paternal sister Vilard's Fina in 2021.
His sire Ampère, KWPN Champion Stallion and stallion performance test winner, produced the successful Grand Prix stallions Abegglen FH NRW/Victoria Max-Theurer/AUT, Attraktiv/Ivan Nieto Sanchez/ESP, Amandori/Simone Pearce/AUS and the Olympic Game participant All at Once/Yessin Rahmouni/MAR. His state premium daughters are led by the Westphalian Champion Mare Anky and the mare Amicella, who produced the Westphalian Champion Stallion and German and Westphalian Champion Valverde. Numerous auction top prices have also been recorded.
The pedigree of Franklin shows highly interesting line breeding to the stallion legends Ferro and Flemmingh.
The dam’s sire Ferro won three championship silver medals. With Coby van Baalen/NED, he was part of the Dutch team that was placed second at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome/ITA, at the 1999 European Championships in Arnhem/NED and at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney/AUS. Furthermore, he was placed second in the World Cup final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch/NED. He has produced 17 licensed stallions, including Rousseau, Negro, Metall and Rhodium. In the Netherlands, he received the predicate “keur”.
The maternal grand-sire Flemmingh is one of the most important dressage sires in the Netherlands and has produced the Grand Prix stallions Krack C/Anky van Grunsven/NED and Lingh/Edward Gal/NED.
