He was the public's favourite at the 20th anniversary edition of the DSP Stallion Days in 2023 in Munich-Riem: Viva Vegas. “An absolutely exceptional horse. We have all seen what a radiance this horse has. In all three paces, he shows a lot of expression, ground cover and fantastic uphill tendency. There is nothing to criticise here. A very complete horse, with possibilities that seem inexhaustible,” commented dressage inspector Jörg Schrödter, enthusiastically. “For me personally, the exceptional horse of this collection!” And so Viva Vegas, celebrated as "Mister Round of Applause", went on his well-deserved lap of honour as premium stallion and top price of the stallion auction.
His sire Viva Gold OLD is the grandson of the Olympic, European and multiple World Cup Champion Weihegold OLD with Isabell Werth. He won his stallion performance test, was Oldenburg Regional Reserve Champion, qualified twice for the German Championships and was highly successful in young dressage horse competitions up to intermediate (M) level. From his first crop, he produced eleven licensed stallions, many of which were premium stallions, first and foremost our Westphalian Champion Stallion and Stallion Market top price V-Power.
His dam's sire Rock Forever I NRW was Reserve Champion of his licensing, won bronze and silver medals at the German Championships for three and four-year-old riding horses, was Vice German Champion of five-year-old dressage horses and was placed sixth at the World Championships for young dressage horses. In 2011, he came third in the final of the Nuremberg Burg Cup. In 2013, he came fifth at the German Young Riders Championships with Sophie Holkenbrink. He was then victorious up to Grand Prix level. Rock Forever I NRW is also on the dam sire side of our Reserve Champion Stallion Feinsten.
His grand-dam Fräulein Smilla is the full sister of the licensed stallion Floris and was placed in young dressage horse competitions.
The legendary sire Florestan, one of the most successful NRW state stud stallions ever, appears in the third generation of his pedigree. In 2011, Florestan was the second most successful dressage stallion worldwide according to the WBFSH ranking. His offspring have won 2.45 million euros. He has produced 93 licensed stallions and over 250 premium mares. Florestan’s career began in 1988 as Rhenish Champion Stallion. The following year, he won his stallion performance test, leading the competition in both dressage and jumping indexes.
His great-grand-dam Euphorie produced another full sister of his grand-dam Fräulein Smilla, St.Pr.St Fatme, who is the dam of the licensed stallions Lautrec (by Vitalis) and Zion Incredible E (by Zoom).
