"Fantastic rhythm, balance and always focused on the rider's aids, with scope and suppleness," Joachim Geilfus praised the grandiose performance of Contino-Quick PS in the final of the German Championships for five-year-old show jumping horses. Ridden by Eiken Sato/JPN, the show jumper with the ideal manner received 9.0 for the first round and 8.8 for the second, and finished with the bronze medal.
Contino-Quick PS qualified for the championships in Warendorf with serial victories in competitions for young show jumping horses and was clear in every round of the championships. He finished the first qualification in third place with a score of 8.7 and the final qualification in second place with a score of 8.8.
In 2021, Contino-Quick PS will stand at stud for the first time.
His sire Contendro I (WBFSH Sire Ranking: 27th in show jumping and 4th in eventing) has produced over 70 licensed stallions and more than 350 horses who are successful at advanced level competitions. The prize money of his offspring amounts to 7.4 million Euros. The main contributors were Codex One/Christian Ahlmann, Conthendrix/Andre Thieme, Queen Mary/Jan Wernke and the European Eventing Team Champion and European Championships individual silver medallist fischerChipmunk FRH/Michael Jung.
His dam Castina was placed in competitions for young show jumping horses. She produced five other international show jumping horses, Diarca PS (by Diarado)/Cindy van der Straten/BEL, SD Chamaco (by Chacco-Blue; 1.45m show jumping), Constanze (by Contefino; 1.40m show jumping), Cardhu (by Diarado; 1.40m show jumping) and Dear Nahla (by Diarado; 1.35m show jumping).
His grand-sire Carinue was placed at high level. Two of his sons have been licensed. In sport, the German Championship bronze medallist Carinou/Ludger Beerbaum and Clenur/Marco Kutscher are highly successful.
His grand-dam Golden Star also produced several horses for international courses. Cha Cha Cha (by Chacco-Blue) participated in the 2019 World Cup Final in Gothenburg/SWE, won the Grand Prix of Valencia/ESP and the show jumping World Cup of Sharjah/UAE. Tailormade Chloé Star PS (by Conthargos) competed in Grand Prix with Karin Martinsen/SWE. Also internationally successful: Cormick (by Cormint)/Max-Hilmar Borchert, Tailormade La Golda Z (by Lawito), Capitale (by Carthago) and Cartoon’s Star (by Cartoon).
His great-grand-sire is Quick Star. He contributed to his rider Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum's breakthrough in international show jumping sport with victories in the Grand Prix of Palm Beach/USA, Maastricht/NED, Mannheim/GER and Munich/GER. The Selle Francais stallion by Galoubet-Nithard x lived on through his offspring, led by Stella/Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Quick Study/Lauren Hough/USA, Orient Express/Patrice Dealveau/FRA and Vleut/Maikel van der Vleuten/NED and Edwina Tops-Alexander/AUS.
His great-grand-dam Goldprobe produced three exceptional horses: Classico by ZYX (by Classiker), Prime Time (by Philister) and Chaccorit (by Chacco-Blue).
Hanoverian line of Weissenburg, from which descend numerous international show jumping horses and stallions, such as Cornet Blue (by Chacco-Blue), Couture (by Conthargos) and Lambado (by Lando).
