Van Helsing is one of the most proven international show-jumping leaders. With Denis Lynch/IRL, for example, he came second in the Grand Prix of Dortmund and also achieved numerous other international successes with Flaminia Straumann/SUI. He was not very active in breeding due to his sport career, but produced numerous offspring competing at high level, such as Van Moor/Josch Löhden, who came tenth at the German Championships and has since been successful in 1.50m show-jumping classes, and Vertigo Waf/Alexa Stais/RSA, who was placed in Grand Prix.
At the beginning of his show jumping career, Van Helsing qualified for the German Championships for five-year-old show-jumping horses with Karl Brocks, winning the qualification in Rastede with 9.0. In the finale of the Hanoverian show-jumping Championships, the powerful bay stallion was also highly placed. In 2011, at his 70-day test in Neustadt/D. he received the highest score for his jumping abilities, 8.67, and 137 points for his predicted breeding value in jumping, also the highest of all. The test riders even gave him 9.75 for his jumping abilities.
His sire Valentino, successful up to advanced (S) level show-jumping, a grandson of the great Voltaire via Now or Never and standing at the Celle State Stud, was placed amongst the top ten of the best German show-jumping sires right at the beginning of his breeding career according to the FN breeding valuation. His offspring, who are successful at advanced (S) level show-jumping, are led by Vittorio/ Sophie Hinners, German Vice-Champion and winner of the Grand Prix in Opglabbeek/BEL, Vancouver Dreams/Max Kühner/AUT, successful in the World Cup, and Van Gogh/Wilhelm Genn, who came second in the Grand Prix of Wellington/USA.
His maternal grand-sire Stakkato, record German Champion with Eva Bitter in 1998, German Champion in Gera in 2003 and in Münster in 2010, dominated the FN breeding valuation for eleven years. In 2007, he was named "Hanoverian stallion of the year." Over 70 of his sons have been licensed and around 120 of his daughters are State Premium. Over 220 offspring compete at high level, such as the German Champion Souvenir/Philipp Weishaupt, the winner of the Grand Prix in Hannover, Satisfaction FRH/Eva Bitter and Marco Kutscher, and the winner of the Grand Prix in Albführen/AUT, Special One/Tobias Meyer. Stakkato also appears on the dam's sire side of Colestus/Christian Kukuk and Ludger Beerbaum, Firth of Lorne and Singular LS La Silla/both Marcus Ehning as well as Perigueux/Eva Bitter.
His grand-dam Ancora produced the M** show-jumping horse Calandra H (by Contendro I).
His great-grand-sire Acord II was Vice German Champion in 1992 and competed at high level with Thomas Mohr. Over 50 of his sons have been licensed. His offspring have won over 2.4 million euros in prize money.
His great-grand-dam Eljana produced the advanced (S) level dressage horses Wejas (by World Cup I).
