Successful all around the globe
After a long career in international show jumping, the Holstein stallion Casanova now stands at our stud. Alexandra Heinzmann established his place at advanced level/S level and Casanova continued his career in international show jumping with Christina Liebherr (SUI), Mubarak Yousuf A S Al Rumaihi and Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani (QAT). In 2012, he was second in the s'Hertogenbosch Grand Prix and achieved a high placing at CHIO Aachen. In 2014 he won the Dubai Grand Prix and qualified for the World Cup finals in Lyon (FRA). From a breeding perspective, he is at the start of his career, and yet in two coverings from 2002, he has already produced two successful show jumpers. With the paternal great-grand-dam Folia (mother of Capitol I and II as well as Latus I and II, lineage 173) and the maternal great-grand-dam Legende, who is also the great-grand-dam of Cento/Otto Becker (lineage 2137), two of the best Holstein mother lines are brought together.
His sire Cadillac, one of the few sons of the very valuable Caletto II and closely related to the centenary producer Capitol I, was ridden successfully at advanced level/S level show jumping by Peter Wetzel. He is classified as a show jumping sire, because many of his progeny have managed the step up into the advanced class/S level class. The dam Chanell I, a product of the valuable and influential thoroughbred Casino Boy xx, produced eight successful show-jumping horses, three of them at S level. She is half-sister to Viola XI (by Caletto II) who produced the three licensed stallions Cento (Team Olympic Gold Medalist with Otto Becker), Casado and Zento (NED). Casado’s full sister, Legende IX, produced the recognised stallion Nekton (Holstein stud book). The grand dam Lady Legende was successful in sport and, when bred to Lord, produced the Holstein studbook stallion Ligorett. Her sire Liguster was champion stallion of the Holstein licensing. The great-grand-dam Legende was winner of the Grand Prix in Rome with Reiner Hedde (amongst others). Casanova represents the traditional Holstein lineage 2137, from which come the licensed stallions Camparino (Ldb./stud Schwaiganger, internationally successful with Helmut Schönstetter), Carte d'Or (privately owned stallion, Westphalia, SWE), Chronist (privately owned stallion, DEN), Close Up VA (privately owned stallion, Holst.) and the successful show jumpers Classicer/Karsten Huck and Lamarque/Karl Brocks.
Casanova: the perfect example of strength and capacity, from the best bloodlines!
