Best stallion at the 2018 WEG in Tryon/USA
Max Kühner's "special horse" comes to us for breeding. The imposing and charismatic Chardonnay has a record of successes that could hardly be more impressive. Placed sixth and best stallion at the World Equestrian Games in 2018 in Tryon/USA. The ninth and fourteenth place respectively in the World Cup finals in 2019 and 2016 as well as Top 20 at the European Championships in 2017 in Gothenburg/SWE. Added to this are victories and top placings in the big show jumping competitions and Nations Cups in Calgary/CAN, Sopot/POL, Paris/FRA, Madrid/ESP, Valkenswaard/NED, Rome/ITA, La Baule/FRA, Berlin/GER and Leipzig/GER. For Max Kühner, “Chardonnay is a very special horse to me, because he is not only exceptional in sport, but his nature and character are something very special.”
His sire Clarimo Ask won the Grand Prix of Falsterbo/SWE and the Nations Cup of Rotterdam/NED with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson/SWE. He was also very well placed in show jumping competitions in Doha/UAE, Paris/FRA, ’s-Hertogenbosch/NED, Hamburg/GER, Valkenswaart/NED, Lyon/FRA, Vienna/AUT, Rome/ITA, Cannes/FRA and Gothenburg/SWE. In his first season, Clarimo Ask won a series of competitions for young show jumping horses with Janne Friederike Meyer and became the Holstein Regional Champion (6y.o.). The fantastic show jumping horses GK Coco Chanel/Conor Swail/IRL, Canamera/Lauren Hough/USA, C-Steffra/Niklaus Schurtenberger/SUI and Be Aperle VA/Diarmuid Howley/IRL, as well as several outstanding eventers, such as Costbar, Eventing German Champion, and McClaren/Jonelle Price/NZL, World Championship bronze medallist by team and placed tenth individually, appear amongst his most successful offspring. Crunch/Rolf-Göran Bengtsson is one of the 19 licensed stallions by Clarimo.
His dam Pamina III also produced the mare Cora IX (by Quirado), whose son Clarimo Junior (by Clarimo) was licensed in Belgium.
Corrado I, Carolus I and Calypso II also appear in his pedigree.
His grand-dam Harmonie II produced Carrington (by Concerto II), who was licensed in Belgium and Cuba Libre and Cashmere (both by Cassini I), who were both successful in 1.50m show jumping competitions. Her half sister Gesandte II (by Lesanto) produced the 1.30m licensed show jumping stallion Colmani (by Colman) and the 1.40m show jumping mare Ocalida (by Calido I).
His great-grand-dam Brigitte produced the 1.40m show jumping horses Carpriccia (by Carolus I) and Calettos Boy (by Caletto I) as well as the 1.35m show jumping horses Candyman (by Corofino I), Carneol Noir (by Carolus I) and Ventura D (by Clearway).
